Connecting via Device Name
By default, your device name is MODEL-MACADD, where MODEL is DataMan 290 or DataMan 390 and MACADD is the last 6 digits of your device’s mac address. As an example, a DataMan 290 with MAC address 00-D0-24-3B-F1-B8 would have the default hostname DM290-3BF1B8.
To connect via Device Name, you can type in <device name>.local in your browser. For example, for DM290-3Bf1B8, you’d connect by entering DM290-3BF1B8.local in your browser. Note that this is an http address (not https) by default, so the full address would be http://DM290-3BF1B8.local.
Note that if you modify your Device Name, this address will update to reflect your current setting. For the case above, if you were to rename your device from DM290-3BF1B8 to DM290-TEST, your new address would be DM290-TEST.local.
Connecting via MAC address
You can find your device MAC address on the box it came in, and/or on the label on the back of the device. Your MAC address url has all dash (-) characters removed, so for a device with MAC address 00-D0-24-3B-F1-B8, your url would be 00D0243BF1B8.local.
Note that this is not case sensitive, and similar to Device Name is an http address (not https), with 00D0243BF1B8.local being equivalent to http://00D0243BF1B8.local.
Connecting via Serial Number
You can find your device Serial Number on the box it came in, the label on the back of the device, or the packing slip for your order. Your serial number url will match your serial number exactly, so for a device with SN 1A2432XN005052, your url would be 1A2432XN005052.local
Note that this is not case sensitive, and similar to Device Name and MAC address is an http address (not https), with 1A2432XN005052.local being equivalent to http://1A2432XN005052.local.
