My VisionView has an admin password set and I don't know what it is. When I try to reset it with Cognex Explorer, I get an error saying "Operation cannot be performed". The VisionView displays as "Misconfigured" in Cognex Explorer because it's on a different subnet. Changing the VisionView's IP requires the password, so instead, we'll set the computer's IP address to one on the same subnet as the VisionView. This will allow us to reset the password. Please follow these steps:
- Connect the VisionView's ethernet cable directly to the PC.
- Change your PC's IP address to one on the same subnet as the VisionView.
- Restart the Cognex Explorer Software.
- The VisionView will now display as "Discovered". You can now perform a password reset.
