Can I connect to my DataMan 290 or DataMan 390 through USB-C?
Answer
Connecting via USB-C isn’t supported for the DataMan 290 and DataMan 390
mDNS connections via USB-C aren’t supported.
Your device’s USB-C port allows for access to the Web UI via a static IP address for troubleshooting only, and you cannot power the DataMan 290 or DataMan 390 via USB-C only.
If you must connect to the Web UI via USB-C for troubleshooting:
- Open Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center
- Plug in your device. Note which Ethernet connection appears when you do so
- Change your IPV4 address for that ethernet connection to a 192.168.111 address, for example 192.168.111.240.
- Once your USB port is on a 192.168.111 address, you can connect to your device at http://192.168.111.2
This address is not user-configurable, and is only available for troubleshooting purposes.
