How to enable Trace log in Designer
Answer
- Open notepad with administrative rights. (i.e. right-click, Run as Administrator)
- Browse to the install path of Designer, e.g. C:\Program Files\Cognex\Designer\XX - where XX is Designer version
- Open the nlog.config file
- Replace <logger name="*" minlevel="Info" writeTo="CD_AsyncWrapperTarget"> With <logger name="*" minlevel="Trace" writeTo="CD_AsyncWrapperTarget">
- Logfile can be found c:\Users\<user>\Documents\Cognex Designer\Logs\CD_Log.txt
What can be helpful during troubleshooting with CSE:
- timestamp where error happens
- start fresh and get only relevant data (delete old CD_Log.txt file)
