Please check the Firmware Version of the Base Station.
- If it is not 6.2.7_SR2, please update it to 6.2.7_SR2. If you already on 6.2.7_SR2, skip to step 5
- Place the DataMan Reader on the Base Station for charging. Observe if the Base Station shows steady RED, indicating the battery is charging. If not, please skip to step 5.
- If yes, leave the Reader to charge until it shows 20%.
- Then pick up the Reader off and replace it on the Base Station. The OLED screen will activate to show the automatic update of the Reader to 6.2.7_SR2. Please click “yes”.
- If you still cannot charge the Reader after updating the Base Station, remove the battery from the Reader.
- Test the voltage of the battery. If it is only around 0.02V, it means the battery is dead. Please use the Multi-Battery Charger to charge the battery to make it active. (Normally, the battery should have around 3V, even though the battery is low or 0%.)

- After charging via the Multi-Battery Charger for a few minutes, the battery may possibly be re-activated. If so, reinstall the battery into the DataMan Reader and proceed to charge it through the Base Station. Alternatively, use the Multi-Battery Charger to charge the battery to full.
If the above two methods do not fix the charging issue, we will consider a Hot Swap for the specific unit.
